Telehealth has enhanced the ability to manage ophthalmic patients in the Great Southern by providing increased access, shorter waitlists for surgery and no out of pocket costs. GPs now refer directly for optometry assessment for Telehealth to deal with cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma and macula degeneration using the state-of-the-art imaging equipment.
